Rubber Bands
Rubber bands are frequently used in many businesses, as well as at home. Because they are reusable and economical, rubber bands are well-suited for many takes. They are available in many different sizes and colours. Small rubber bands can be less than an inch in diameter, while large rubber bands can be several feet across. Some common uses for rubber bands include holding small items together and keeping file folders closed. Rubber bands are traditionally sold by the pound and usually come in bags or boxes.
What Rubber Bands Are Made Of
Not all rubber bands are made of the same materials. There are four primary materials used to make the different rubber band types: natural rubber, EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), synthetic polyisoprene, and silicone compounds. These different materials have special properties that make them best for certain jobs.
Paper Clips
Paper clips are available in plastic and metal and in a variety of sizes and shapes. Metal paper clips are the most common. The standard size is 1-3/8" long and they generally have an elliptical shape. Standard paper clips are economical are good for everyday use. If you have large stacks of paper, larger, heavier paper clips are recommended. Some paper clips contain a non-skid finish that prevents slipping and keeps your paper firmly attached.
Plastic Paper clips
Plastic paperclips are not as common as metal paperclips and are often used for specialty purposes. They come in many more colours and shapes than metal paperclips. Plastic paperclips can be used to colour code documents or make them stand out.
